There is such a huge intersection between u mental health and the criminal justice system. So, somebody that is having um you know a mental health crisis may end up getting charged with some sort of criminal offense even if they didn’t intend their conduct.

Having somebody that’s familiar with mental health and I actually go around speaking um about mental illness and mental health at some of the CLES that I talk about just through some experience with family members that I have in my background and how important it is to be able to understand what it is the the individual that’s being accused of a of a crime was experiencing during that moment and how to navigate through whether or not they actually had the mental state to commit the crime.
