The philosophy that guides my work as a lawyer is I truly believe that everybody is entitled to a strong meaningful defense. And I also believe that if the system is broken for the guilty people, then it’s also going to be broken for the innocent people alike. So when we navigate through our cases, we truly believe that protecting the integrity of the criminal justice system means it protecting your constitutional rights that you have as somebody that’s being accused and walking through a really complicated criminal justice system.
I’ve been licensed since 2007. I’ve only been a criminal defense lawyer. It’s all that I do. You know, a lot of lawyers are just trial lawyers or um they’re just postconviction lawyers, but my roots in practicing criminal law were in the courtroom trying cases ranging from misdemeanor cases all the way up through murders, first-degree felonies, and now my the primary area of my practice that I bring to Jones de Laarza is postconviction work. So having that background in trial level work as well as combining that with um my extensive knowledge and and experience with appeals postconviction rits of habius corpus allows me to provide a lot of trial support to my law partner and be there you know when I do try cases provide that support but also just having you know experience from low-level criminal offenses all the way up through the most serious criminal offenses is what’s made me the lawyer that I am today.
